Wildwood police apprehended an unlicensed Mexican driver who had previously broken the law and was back behind the wheel.
Victor Alfonso Flores, 40, of Apopka, was driving a silver Ford pickup at 3 p.m. Tuesday near U.S. 301 and the Florida Turnpike when an officer saw Flores and his passengers not wearing seatbelts, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
During a traffic check, Flores showed the officer his Mexican passport and consular ID card. The officer discovered that, despite having never formally received a driver’s license in Florida, Flores had previously been convicted of driving under the influence.
He was brought under arrest and placed into the Sumter County Detention Center. They released him after he paid a $300 bond.
