Gunfire erupted on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, leaving a juvenile and an elderly man injured and hospitalized.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting occurred around 3:00 p.m. last Friday in the 3000 block of the street.

Officers from the Fourth District responded and found a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

A 70-year-old man was also injured when a bullet struck his leg while he sat in his car. He explained to police that he heard gunfire and saw individuals in dark clothing shooting at someone when a stray bullet pierced his car door.

Authorities are now searching for two suspects described as armed and dangerous.

  • The first suspect is a Black male with a low afro, wearing a black hoodie with lettering, black pants, and black and red shoes.
  • The second suspect is a Black male with long dreadlocks, dressed in a black hoodie, black purse, black and white jeans, and black shoes.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department urges anyone with information about the suspects to contact the Central Patrol Division at 314-444-2500 and request to speak with a District 4 detective. Anonymous tips can also be reported to CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477), with potential rewards available.
