Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place overnight inside an uptown neighborhood.
Police said a 30-year-old guy was eating at a restaurant near Montrose and Clark. It was shortly after midnight. A man with a gun approached the patron and demanded his belongings, to which he complied.
According to the police complaint, the thief approached the cash register and staff moved out of the way.
The man tried unsuccessfully to open the register. He then ran away.
