Police: Man was asked to contribute to the househoId he was staying in for free as the family faced growing biIIs, only to come back with a firearm and kiII one of its members

A Texas man, 21-year-old Angel, was charged with murder for the shooting death of Cristopher, who was 18 years old. The allegations resulted from an incident earlier this month. Texas officers were summoned to the victim’s residence soon after 10 p.m. and discovered the young man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead by emergency personnel on the scene.

Investigators determined that the shooting happened during a heated argument over rent. The defendant had been living with the family rent-free for roughly 3 months. As the family faced rising bills, they finally asked him to contribute $250 for rent. According to family, the defendant initially left to collect the money, then returned claiming to have it—but actually gave it to the victim. Moments thereafter, the victim went outside, and the defendant shot him.

ZuIeyka, a family member, claimed that he was her children’s older brother, possibly a half-sibling, who had been living on their couch. “I told him that couldn’t be happening. “We have bills to pay,” ZyIeyka told local news site ABC13. She further stated that the victim was a cherished figure in the family.

After the shooting, the defendant fled the scene. Texas authorities eventually located and apprehended him. The county jail is currently imprisoning him on charges of murder.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident as a family-related homicide. Currently, police are evaluating CCTV footage and other evidence from the family’s house. They’ve also gathered statements from the defendant and witnesses to piece together the timeline of events. Texas authorities emphasize that the shooter originally appeared cooperative, agreeing to depart and return rent money, before erupting in deadly violence.
