An MS-13 gang member and convicted felon was recently arrested in Florida after an attempted carjacking, according to authorities.

A Coral Gables Police Department officer stated that they responded to reports of a suspicious person on the morning of May 16 in the 1500 block of Red Road in Miami.
The officer stated that a resident had stopped at a stop sign when he was approached by a masked individual who attempted to steal his automobile. The resident was able to flee and called the police.
The man wearing the mask was apprehended, and police said they found a gun, knife, and mask.
Suspect identified as MS-13 gang member
The suspect was later identified as Wilson Verela, a 24-year-old Honduran national.
Police stated the individual had an MS-13 tattoo on his left chest and eventually acknowledged being a member of the notorious international gang.
Investigators discovered that Verela had just received his release from prison for committing aggravated violence with a firearm.
What’s next: Police stated they are working with Homeland Security Investigations and Customs and Border Protection to determine Verela’s status in the United States.
Verela is facing accusations of burglary in an occupied residence, as well as possession of a weapon and ammunition by a convicted felon.
