In an incident on Chicago’s West Side, a suspect was shot on Tuesday afternoon after allegedly attempting to rob a woman at gunpoint.
What we know: The incident took place at approximately 2:31 p.m. on West Congress Parkway in the 5700 block.
A 68-year-old woman was walking when an unknown offender approached her, pulling out a gun and demanding her property, as reported by the police.
During the attempted robbery, a brave 38-year-old man stepped in and engaged in a physical altercation with the perpetrator.
The perpetrator sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg during the altercation.
According to the authorities, the two individuals did not sustain any injuries.
The offender was transported to Stroger Hospital and was reported to be in good condition.
