In a recent press release from the Pontotoc Sheriff, it was announced that authorities in North MS have seized more than 1000 pounds of drugs, with a street value exceeding $2 million.
On Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2025, the Narcotics Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department in Mississippi made an arrest. They were conducting daytime Narcotics Operations on the Highways, Roads, and Streets of Pontotoc County when they apprehended Jermaine Barrett from Nevada. Barrett was taken into custody for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (MARIJUANA).
Barrett had over 715 pounds of marijuana and more than 26,500 marijuana-infused gummies in his possession.
The estimated value of the listed narcotics is slightly over $2,000,000.
Barrett, who is originally from Jamaica, is currently residing in the United States on a work Visa.
