Adding protein powder to your diet is a convenient and effective way to boost your protein consumption.

If you have a peanut allergy, it’s important to verify that the powder you’re using is safe for you to consume.

Orgain has issued a voluntary recall for its product, 30g Protein Organic Plant Based Powder – Chocolate 2.01lb, as per the FDA. The reason behind the recall is the potential presence of undeclared peanuts in the product.

Peanut allergies can have severe and potentially life-threatening consequences.

You could purchase the powder both in retail stores and through online ordering.

The chocolate-flavored product is packaged in a 2.01lb plastic tub with a blue label. Its expiration date is June 20, 2026, and it can be identified by the lot code 4172-02-P.

Orgain has chosen to participate in the recall as a precautionary measure after receiving a report of an allergic reaction from one customer. It is important to note that no other Orgain products have been impacted by this recall.

There have been no reports of any other illnesses associated with this recall.

Are Protein Powders Safe?

Protein powders can be a safe and healthy addition to your diet when used in moderation. However, it’s important to note that not all protein powders are the same. Before making a decision, take the time to carefully read the nutritional information on the label. Pay attention to the amount of sugar, carbs, and artificial ingredients present in the powder. This will help you choose a protein powder that aligns with your health goals and dietary needs.

If you have lactose intolerance, it’s best to steer clear of whey protein, which is derived from milk. Consuming whey protein in such cases can potentially lead to digestive issues and discomfort.

Plant-based protein powders consist of a blend of seeds, legumes, and grains, which are combined to form a complete protein source. It is important to carefully review the ingredients if you have any food allergies.
