The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 6 PM CST this evening. Very strong north to northwest winds will continue through most of the day. Sustained wind speeds will range from 20 to 35 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph possible.

These winds will combine with relative humidity values between 15 and 25 percent, and fuels that are cured and dry to critically dry to create critical fire weather conditions. The warning area is generally west of Hamlin to San Angelo to Brady.

Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will occur shortly. A combination of strong winds, low humidity and dry fuels will contribute to extreme fire behavior.  Outdoor burning is highly discouraged.
