A Republican political committee member in Texas was arrested for election fraud while wearing a shirt that read “Ban Democrat Chairs,” after it was claimed she falsified residency documents.
Eva Royer, a Hood County Republican Party member, has filed to run for Granbury City Council on August 19, 2024, according to an official Facebook post. However, Texas election law requires candidates to reside inside city limits for at least six months prior to filing.
Royer claimed nearly three years of residency, but evidence later revealed that she only moved her address in July—and that the property she listed was being used as an Airbnb.
According to authorities, Royer’s claimed home was not her primary residence, but rather a short-term rental owned by her real estate firm for which she paid hotel occupancy taxes.
Meanwhile, her March 2024 primary vote was cast from a property outside the city limits, raising further concerns about voter fraud. Royer dropped out of the contest when her candidacy was challenged and a special council meeting was called.
She was detained shortly after, wearing her “Ban Democrat Chairs” shirt outside a Hood County Republican Executive Committee meeting. Royer now faces allegations of fabricating official records and voter fraud, both of which are significant felonies in Texas.
