Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the theft of a safe containing hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash from an Indiana County residence on New Year’s Eve.
According to PSP Punxsutawney, the burglary occurred on New Year’s Eve between 8:45 a.m. and noon at a Canoe Township residence, with the alleged thief taking a safe holding a revolver and stacks of $100 bills worth more than $500,000.
According to police, the banknotes were stapled together with two staple marks at the end of each bill, identical to the bills depicted in the picture below.
The type of rifle and the safe’s description remained unspecified.
