More than 100 South Carolina National Guard soldiers have been activated as the state deals with winter weather.
The South Carolina National Guard said around 115 of its soldiers activated for state duty on Tuesday will assist the South Carolina Department of Public Safety and Department of Transportation with car recovery teams.
The South Carolina National Guard says it had 14 car recovery teams and 42 vehicles ready to assist damaged towns.
Teams are now staging in nine counties throughout the state.
