Houston, TX is set to experience a change in weather as a cold front is predicted to move through Southeast Texas overnight. This shift will bring cooler temperatures for the remainder of the week. While Monday saw warm temperatures reaching the mid-70s, patchy fog may develop overnight, potentially affecting visibility for commuters on Monday morning.

The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures will reach a high of around 76°F on Monday. However, there will be a significant drop in temperature as a cold front moves through late Monday night into early Tuesday. By Tuesday morning, temperatures are expected to dip into the mid-40s. Breezy winds will persist throughout the day, keeping conditions cool.

On New Year’s Day, we can expect clear skies and a high temperature of around 60°F. The winds will be calm, creating a pleasant atmosphere for outdoor activities. As the evening approaches, temperatures will drop into the low 40s, making it a bit chilly but still dry for those planning to celebrate outside. However, drivers should be cautious of potential fog that may develop on Wednesday night, particularly on major roadways like I-10 and I-45, as it could affect visibility.

There is a 30% chance of showers predicted for Thursday evening into Friday morning, bringing back rain chances. The highs during the weekend will stay in the low 60s. It is advisable for residents to have an umbrella ready for the upcoming days and to stay updated on any changes in the weather conditions.

Be prepared for limited visibility when driving during the late night and early morning hours. It is important to plan your commute accordingly and stay vigilant. Additionally, if you are hosting an outdoor New Year’s gathering, you can expect cooler temperatures, but the weather is expected to remain dry, which is ideal.
