A missing father of two from suburban Aurora has been identified, according to authorities, after his body was discovered in the Fox River this week.
Oswego police have identified the victim as 35-year-old Lorenzo Morales.
Morales’ family informed NBC Chicago that he was reported missing after going out with friends last week, and police confirmed his identification in a new release.
According to investigators, Morales was last seen in unincorporated Kendall County on Saturday and reported missing to Aurora police the next day.
On Monday around 5:24 p.m., callers reported seeing “something unusual” in the Fox River near the 100 block of West Washington Street. Firefighters soon discovered Morales’ body and retrieved him from the water; he was pronounced dead on the scene.
It is unclear how he wound up in the water, and his cause of death has yet to be confirmed pending an autopsy, according to authorities.
