The Tyrone Borough Police Department has provided additional information regarding the tragic death of three individuals from Blair County.
According to the department, two individuals from the Tyrone Borough and one from Snyder Township lost their lives to fatal overdoses. After conducting an investigation, the police discovered that the deadly heroin/fentanyl originated from a residence in Snyder Township.
Police and troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police initiated surveillance on the residence and observed the arrival of a black Chevrolet truck, with individuals entering the vehicle. Subsequently, law enforcement officials trailed the truck from Snyder Township to the Tyrone Borough.
Shortly after, the Tyrone Borough Police Department received a distressing call about a tragic overdose. Upon reaching the scene, they discovered the black truck abandoned just half a block away.
According to the department, Calil Francois-Moon, 20, was arrested by the police in connection to the overdose. During the scene, a K-9 unit was requested, and they discovered a bookbag that contained the following items:

- 1,765 grams of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $176,400
- 56 grams of heroin/fentanyl and 28 grams of black tar heroin with a street value of $21,000
- 56 grams of cocaine with a street value of $5,600
- 3.8 ounces of psychedelic mushrooms valued at $1,000
- $1,004 in US Currency
Moon is currently facing charges for possession and disorderly conduct. Due to the potential of additional pending charges, he was denied bail. The investigation is being conducted jointly by the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, the Tyrone Police Department, and the Altoona Police Department.
The Blair County Coroner’s office is currently investigating three deaths that are believed to be drug-related. These incidents occurred on Wednesday.
According to the coroner’s office, a 25-year-old male in Snyder Township, a 24-year-old female, and a 32-year-old female in Tyrone Borough have died. It is possible that all three individuals are related. Autopsies for these individuals are scheduled for Thursday, February 20th.
