The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office summoned members to the Urban Green Apartments in the 3300 block of Galena Drive on Friday, August 9, just before 10:30 p.m. Once inside the clubhouse, they discovered the adolescent suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Deputies were able to assist the minor until paramedics arrived, and they could transport him to a nearby trauma center for further care and assessment.
On Saturday, August 10, his status was unknown.
According to investigators, witnesses reported to deputies that suspects entered the event, started shooting at the audience, and then left.
They declared that there is no ongoing danger, and that it is not believed to be a random act of violence.
The incident remains under investigation.
