A man, aged 19, has been sentenced to 22 years in prison by a St. Louis jury for his involvement in the shooting death of another man in a dispute over fireworks. The jury found him guilty of second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

In April, Devin Griffin-Curry was found guilty of the murder of Rickey Jemore Lathan, who was 35 years old when he was killed in July 2022. Although Griffin-Curry was only 16 at the time of the shooting, he was deemed fit to stand trial as an adult. The incident occurred in the 2500 block of Semple Avenue.

Griffin-Curry’s younger brother, who is 20 years old, still has a pending case against him.
