According to reports, a high school student was arrested on February 11 for allegedly plotting a mass shooting at her school on Valentine’s Day. The individual in question, identified as Trinity Shockley, who is 18 years old, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and threatening to commit terrorism, among other offenses. The target of her alleged plan was Mooresville High School in Indiana. This information was reported by dailymail.co.uk.

According to indystar.com, Shockley posted concerning messages on social media about her intentions. One of the messages read, “‘Parkland part two. I’ve been planning this for a year.” This was seemingly a reference to the tragic mass shooting that occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on February 14, 2017. In that incident, seventeen lives were lost and seventeen others were injured. Shockley’s alleged plan was set to take place exactly seven years after the Parkland high school tragedy.

According to indystar.com, Shockley exhibited a strong fascination with violence and mass killers such as Nikolas Cruz, the perpetrator of the Parkland school shooting. This interest was evident from the items found in her room and her social media posts.
