Omaha Police announced Wednesday that two suspects are in custody, one in Lincoln, after a 91-year-old man reported being carjacked at Westroads Mall last week.
According to a Wednesday news release from the OPD, Dhevan Phillips-Mills, 18, was apprehended in Lincoln with the assistance of the city’s Fugitive Task Force. He was booked into Lancaster County Corrections for robbery.
In the statement, the OPD also stated that they detained a 17-year-old suspect on Monday.
The arrests came more than a week after an elderly man claimed he was robbed and abused at Westroads Mall.
The event apparently occurred just before 11 a.m. on Monday, April 28; authorities made the information public later in the week.
According to previous reports, the victim informed cops that two white guys had grabbed him from his vehicle and punched him in the face multiple times. They then stole his vehicle, which authorities eventually recovered.
