On December 4, 2024, Brian Kennedy II, a man from Texas City, was arrested after crashing into two parked police vehicles while officers were investigating a crash on South IH 45. Kennedy, the only occupant of the dark sedan, was detained after showing signs of intoxication and attempting to hide narcotics.

At around 7:11 p.m., two League City Police Officers were investigating a crash in the southbound lanes of the 1100 block of South IH 45. The officers had activated their emergency lights and positioned their patrol cars in the far-right lane to block traffic. While outside their vehicles, the officers heard another crash and saw Kennedy’s sedan strike both patrol cars.

When the officers approached Kennedy, who did not report any injuries, they noticed he was trying to conceal drugs and exhibited clear signs of intoxication. He was immediately detained for further investigation. During the inquiry, it was revealed that Kennedy had also been involved in a hit-and-run accident in nearby Webster. An officer from the Webster Police Department arrived to collect details for their report.

Kennedy faces charges of Driving While Intoxicated ($1,500 Bond), Possession of Controlled Substance PG 2 <1g ($5,000 Bond), two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance PG 3 <28g ($5,000 Bond), and Tampering with Physical Evidence ($5,000 Bond).

Fortunately, neither the officers nor those involved in the original crash were injured.
