A Texas woman is arrested and later charged with serious bodily injury to a disabled person in her care in connection with the death of a family member. Authorities in Texas stated the 41-year-old mother, Crystal, was arrested and later charged in connection with the death of her special needs kid. The victim, Delilah, was discovered unconscious on the floor of her bedroom.

The person was pronounced dead on the scene. The responding officers noticed that the victim was lying on the concrete, with a ring or outline surrounding her body. According to Texas authorities, this indicates that the victim had been lying on the floor for an extended period. Medical professionals told detectives that the victim had been lying on the ground for at least 6 hours, or a full day, when she was discovered.

The 19-year-old victim appeared very starved, with bruises and sores all over her body. The responding officers stated that the woman had exposed bones on her body. First responders thought the victim was 12 years old. The mother informed investigators that her daughter was nonverbal and had severe autism, but no other medical conditions.

During an interview with detectives, the woman allegedly stated that she treated the victim’s wounds with Neosporin but did not seek medical attention. According to the mother, her daughter was apparently violent toward her and other family members. The victim last visited the hospital four years ago, according to police. Authorities later determined that a reasonable person would have sought medical attention for their daughter’s severe injuries.
