Authorities across the state have declared a manhunt for Trevor McEuen, a capital murder suspect who removed his ankle monitor and fled court yesterday.
McEuen allegedly shot and killed his neighbor in 2023, and his trial for four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, murder, and capital murder is set to begin on Monday.

The charges come from a May 2023 incident in Kaufman County. Police arrived at a shooting and discovered 35-year-old Aaron Martinez dead from gunshot wounds in a truck parked outside his residence.
Cops spotted McEuen driving away from Martinez’s house and pursued him until he stopped. He then refused to get out of his truck, resulting in a confrontation with authorities. SWAT eventually put him in jail.
How you can help:
Police want citizens to phone 911 if they see McEuen or have any information regarding his whereabouts. We also advise against attempting to apprehend him yourself. Let the pros handle it.
My two cents:
Why did we allow a killer to spend time at home while wearing an ankle monitor? It appears that we make it too simple for bad guys to escape away. We could have entirely avoided this issue. Not good. Hopefully, authorities will apprehend him soon.
