Texas school officials are currently conducting an investigation into a substitute teacher who made a request for ICE to visit her school, expressing concern about some of her students’ limited English proficiency.
The teacher made the request through a social media post on X. The post, according to Fox-4, stated: “Y’all should come to Fort Worth, TX to Northside High School. I have many students who don’t even speak English, and they are in 10th-11th grade. They have to communicate through their iPhone translator with me. The @USEDGOV should totally overhaul our school system in Texas.”
The school authorities have stated that they are currently investigating the matter and have decided to keep the teacher off campus until the investigation is complete.
“We are aware of a recent social media post referencing North Side High School which was allegedly made by a substitute teacher and has caused concern among our Fort Worth ISD community,” school officials said in a Facebook post. “We take this matter very seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation to understand the circumstances and ensure appropriate actions are taken. As per district protocol, the employee will not be on campus during the investigation.”
According to CNN, the Trump administration has been carrying out a series of ICE raids across the United States. In one recent operation, nearly 1,000 individuals were arrested.
