According to the report, Doe and Hegseth got into an argument outside by the hotel pool after the bar closed. Doe expressed her disapproval of Hegseth’s loud and belligerent behavior. The hotel received multiple complaints about the couple fighting by the pool around 1:30 a.m.

When a staff member tried to intervene, Hegseth responded with profanity and asserted his right to freedom of speech. Doe, acknowledging their Republican affiliation, apologized for Hegseth’s actions to the staff member. The staff member believed that Hegseth was heavily intoxicated, although Hegseth denied this during his police interview, claiming to be only “buzzed.”

Doe couldn’t recall how she made her way back to her room that night. During a subsequent conversation with the police, she mentioned experiencing nightmares and experiencing gaps in her memory since that incident.

Additionally, another individual disclosed to the authorities that Doe would occasionally burst into tears unexpectedly without apparent reason.
