Early Wednesday morning, two individuals were apprehended while attempting to steal an ATM on the South Side of San Antonio.

Dexter Robinson, 25, and Nevon Barnes, 25, both from Houston, were apprehended by the San Antonio Police.

Around 4:30 a.m., police officers were called to a bank in response to an alarm. Although the exact location of the bank was not disclosed, upon their arrival, the officers discovered three individuals attempting to steal an ATM using a vehicle. As soon as the suspects spotted the police, they fled the scene. However, Robinson and Barnes were apprehended, while the third suspect managed to evade capture and is still at large.

According to investigators, Robinson and Barnes are currently being considered as potential suspects in the recent ATM thefts that have occurred in the area.

It is yet to be confirmed by authorities whether any cash was stolen.

According to the police, there has been a surge in ATM burglaries in the past few weeks. It has been observed that individuals from neighboring cities like Houston and Dallas are venturing into our area to carry out money-related crimes, including jugging and ATM thefts.

As the holiday season draws near, law enforcement authorities are urging the general public to remain vigilant when exiting financial institutions with substantial amounts of money.
