UPDATE:

Both missing juveniles have been found and are safe.

The Huntley Police Department took them into protective custody with assistance from the FBI and the Chicago Police Department.

The Crystal Lake Police Department and Metra Police also assisted in locating these juveniles.

We also appreciate the public’s aid in disseminating this information.

We are currently conducting the inquiry and will not share any additional information at this time.

ORIGINAL:

The Huntley Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating two missing young females:

Rechsteiner’s family contacted the Huntley Police Department in the late afternoon of Tuesday, May 20, to report Emilia missing after she did not return home from school.

Around 2:42 p.m., Ernst spotted her near Ol’ Timers Park.

They were later sighted on Buck Dr.

Ernst’s family then reported her missing as well.

Huntley Police Detectives have been diligently searching for the missing youngsters.

We obtained video footage indicating that they arrived at the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20.

It appears that they colored their hair and tried to change their look before boarding the train.

Neither of the juveniles has a cell phone that is known to their family.

They may be in possession of an unnamed phone or device that is unknown to their families and not associated with any family accounts.

They have communicated with friends but will not reveal their location.

Detectives are seeking to identify the device(s) being used and monitor any social media accounts they may be accessing.

It looks like they are with an unnamed male subject.

Please see the photo below and contact the Huntley Police Department Tip Line if you can identify him.

Residents around Ol’ Timers Park should check their cameras for any film of juveniles or vehicles picking them up on Tuesday, May 20, between 2:40 pm and 4:30 pm.

If you have any footage or witnessed them, please call the Huntley Police Tip Line at 847-515-5333. Please include your name, contact information, and a brief summary of your information in your message.

If you have any current information on Emilia and Elizabeth’s location, please contact the Huntley Police Department at 847-515-5311 or 9-1-1 for an urgent response.

Parents of children who may know the missing juveniles: Talk to your kids about this case and stress the need to be honest with the police for Emilia and Elizabeth’s safety.

We appreciate any assistance the community may provide in bringing these youngsters home safely.
