A man from Philadelphia, who was being sought by authorities, was discovered in possession of almost one pound of crystal methamphetamine at the bus station located in downtown Altoona, Pennsylvania.
According to police reports, Rashon Shariyf Shuler, 34, was apprehended on Friday, February 21, at the Altoona Greyhound bus station. The arrest took place while Altoona police and agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office were conducting surveillance at the location.
Shuler was apprehended by the police due to an active arrest warrant issued in Cumberland County. Upon verification of the warrant, law enforcement officials took him into custody. During the arrest, authorities discovered that Shuler was in possession of a substantial amount of crystal methamphetamine, weighing approximately 448 grams or 15.8 ounces. The estimated street value of the seized drugs amounted to a staggering $44,800.
Shuler faced charges of intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Magisterial District Judge Benjamin Jones arraigned him and ordered him to be held at Blair County Prison on a $75,000 bail.
