On Sunday, February 2, 2025, the deputies of Harris County Constable Precinct 2 were called to a residence on the 12000 block of Back Bay Ridge Way in southeast Houston to address a family disturbance. The situation revolved around a custody dispute between Dr. Jihad Mohamad Harmouche, an obstetrician-gynecologist located in Webster, Texas, and his estranged wife.
Deputies reported that the person making the complaint had been seeking refuge at her sister and brother-in-law’s place with her 7-year-old son. She claimed that Harmouche unexpectedly showed up at the residence and tried to take the child. When the homeowner intervened and asked Harmouche to leave, he became extremely angry.
The complainant said that Harmouche had been hostile and controlling for four years, subjecting her to multiple physical attacks and death threats. She went on to say that Harmouche had threatened to dump acid on her. Instead of obtaining acid, he spilled beer on her.
The Harris County Attorney’s Office was contacted by deputies due to the ongoing harassment and nature of the threats. They decided to charge Harmouche with harassment and also requested a protective order for the complainant.
Harmouche was apprehended at the location and taken to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where he was then processed and subsequently placed in the Harris County Jail.
