WENTZVILLE, Mo. — A 9-year-old girl from Wentzville, PK Karrenbrock, passed away on Tuesday after a 9-month battle with cancer, her father, Doug Karrenbrock, announced on Thursday.
PK’s journey began with complaints of back pain, which led doctors to discover a tumor on her spine. Since her diagnosis, nearly 12,000 people followed her story on Facebook, offering prayers and support to the family. Even after her passing, the outpouring of love continued.
“She left this world peacefully, as was so deeply yearned for in our hearts,” Doug wrote in a heartfelt post on the “Prayers for PK” Facebook group.
Doug expressed pride in PK’s remarkable strength, grace, and courage, saying, “As her parents, we could not be more proud of the strength, grace, and courage she displayed in her 9 short years, but specifically these last 9 months.”
The family’s faith, even in their grief, has inspired many within their online community. Through their journey, the Karrenbrock family has united people from diverse backgrounds, showing the profound impact PK’s life has had on countless individuals.
“We thank you all for every single prayer given, as PK played a role in this world bigger than we will ever know in this life,” Doug added.
