Wrong-way driving is a major issue for law enforcement organizations nationally. This is especially true since this activity can easily result in an automobile accident. Recently, one woman drove from New Hampshire to Massachusetts despite heading the opposite way and avoiding traffic stops the entire time. The driver who went the wrong way is now in jail.
This wrong-way driver didn’t care about the safety of anyone else
According to WMUR, New Hampshire police officers received a report on April 13th regarding a wrong-way driver. Notably, such an incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 93 in Londonderry. The driver was heading south on the northbound lanes, which were likely congested even at that hour. Of course, it took the officers some time to locate the vehicle because they had a large area to cover. When authorities arrived on the scene, they attempted to execute a traffic stop, but it appears that the 38-year-old lady did not initially stop.
The authorities were eventually able to halt the wrong-way driver. The incident happened immediately after she passed into Massachusetts. Consequently, Massachusetts police officers arrested her. Nonetheless, she is expected to face charges in New Hampshire, where the chase began and the majority of it took place.
It’s unknown what caused the wrong-way driver’s conduct. Such behavior frequently occurs after someone decides to drive under the influence, but it was not noted in this case. Still, the woman’s conduct could have resulted in several car accidents, so her charges could be significant. If you observe someone driving the wrong way on the road, please notify the police right away.
