The El Paso County Sheriff is investigating a stabbing that killed one woman early Sunday morning. One man was taken into custody.
According to the Major Crimes Unit, the stabbing occurred in the 600 block of Zinc Place in Horizon at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Deputies discovered a 27-year-old woman with stab wounds. The Sheriff’s Office reports that after transferring her to a nearby hospital, her injuries led to her death.
At the time of the stabbing, people spotted Jorge Albert Chavez, 30, leaving the house.
Together, the Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers, and the Reeves County Sheriff’s Office located Chavez on I-20 and apprehended him.
