A woman was arrested for desecration of graves on Memorial Day weekend at a local funeral home and cemetery, according to court documents.
In a complaint filed in Butler County Area Court, 43-year-old Christinia Sumner is charged with grave desecration.
According to court documents, Sumner was seen on May 26 at Rose Hill Funeral Home and Burial Park removing flags, tossing flowers from gravestones, throwing rocks, and moving flowers from one grave to another.
Officers report that when they arrived, they found flowers and other souvenirs spread around the graves, as well as small rocks from a nearby garden.
Sumner appeared in court Wednesday, accused of destruction of a historical object, and is currently being held on a $5,000 bond.
