Wyoming neighbors awoke to the sound of gunshots in their neighborhood in the middle of the night. A man fired 12 rounds as the thief fled in his truck. Then he jumped into another car to track down the suspect.

Wyoming man shoots at and chases man who stole his truck

Casper police officers rushed to the location Saturday night after receiving multiple reports of gun rounds fired and a stolen pickup in West Casper.

Things began around 9 p.m. on the 2000 block of Fremont Avenue. A caller stated that he left his truck running in his driveway while unattended. He then noticed a man get in and drive off with the truck.

So the man fired between ten and fifteen bullets at the fleeing suspect. Then he got in another car and followed the thief. According to Oil City News, he didn’t back down when the suspect drove into an alley behind Smith’s Grocery on CY Avenue.

To keep the driver from fleeing, the owner intentionally rammed into the stolen vehicle. Then police officers arrived to take control of the situation.

They identified the suspect as Angelo Arvizo, 41. He was detained and charged with felony theft and DUI.

I am curious how insurance companies will react if the owner of a car uses it to stop a burglar from taking his truck. Technically, the owner had damaged both automobiles. Furthermore, pursuing a suspect is incredibly dangerous!

Furthermore, this is another example of a motorist making a minor mistake, allowing criminals to easily steal cars. Don’t leave your keys in your car, even if you’re only going into your house, apartment, or store for a minute.
