The Zoe Mafia Family and other gang members were recently found guilty of firearms and narcotics crimes in a federal court in South Florida.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, ATF Miami, and Broward Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with other federal and local law enforcement agencies, obtained federal convictions and prison sentences for 18 members of violent South Florida street gangs, including the Zoe Mafia Family (ZMF), the 3rd World gang, and several Bloods gang factions.
The joint operation resulted in accusations of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine trafficking; carrying a firearm in furtherance of a narcotics trafficking offense; and a felon in possession of a firearm. It resulted in the seizure of 23 weapons, three kilograms of fentanyl, seven kilograms of cocaine, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and cannabis.
The defendants, former residents of South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties), were convicted and sentenced to the following jail terms:
- 37-year-old Andre Allen was sentenced to 120 months for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl (22-cr-20190);
- 41-year-old David Brown was sentenced to 151 months for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl (22-cr-60177);
- 26-year-old Tirell Caldwell was sentenced to 57 months for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon (22-cr-60220);
- 51-year-old Johnnie Gibson was sentenced to 175 months for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine (23-cr-60205);
- 35-year-old Brionne Griffin was sentenced to 60 months for possessing with the intent to distribute fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, and methamphetamine (22-cr-60082);
- 46-year-old Joseph Johnson, Jr. was sentenced to 120 months for possessing with the intent to distribute fentanyl (23-cr-60131);
- 26-year-old Timothy Neil Lewis, Jr. was sentenced to 60 months for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime (22-cr-60083);
- 35-year-old Makinson Moise was sentenced to 248 months for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine base (23-cr-60004);
- 48-year-old Arnicious Odom was sentenced to 30 months for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine (23-cr-60205);
- 33-year-old Wendy Previl was sentenced to 120 months for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl (23-cr-60089);
- 38-year-old Joshua Robinson was sentenced to 51 months imprisonment for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine (24-cr-60132);
- 28-year-old Robert Roseme was sentenced to 42 months for possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl (23-cr-60089);
- 43-year-old Nolan Setoute was sentenced to 12 months for possession of a firearm as a convicted felon (22-cr-60124);
- 40-year-old Terrance Stanley was sentenced to 60 months for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime (22-cr-60120);
- 20-year-old Dorshawn Tate was sentenced to 8 months for possession with intent to distribute alprazolam (23-cr-60051);
- 42-year-old British Wilkerson was sentenced to 60 months for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime (22-cr-60125);
- 40-year-old Byron Felecio Williams, Jr. was sentenced to 60 months for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime (22-cr-80136);
- 31-year-old Kevin Williams was sentenced to 18 months for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine (24-cr-60132).
According to law enforcement, several of the accused are members of the Zoe Mafia Family (ZMF), a South Florida Haitian criminal gang.
The operation’s results were announced by US Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne for the Southern District of Florida, acting Special Agent in Charge Gordon Mallory of the ATF Miami Field Division, and Sheriff Gregory Tony of the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
This case was investigated by ATF Miami and the Broward Sheriff’s Office, with support from DEA Miami, HSI Miami, and the FBI.
Southern District of Florida Bruce Brown, Managing Assistant US Attorney, and Jason McCormack, Assistant US Attorney, prosecuted the cases.
Previously, the United States State Department labeled two Haitian gangs (Viv Ansanm and Gran Grif) as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists.
