The Zoe Mafia Family and other gang members were recently found guilty of firearms and narcotics crimes in a federal court in South Florida.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, ATF Miami, and Broward Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with other federal and local law enforcement agencies, obtained federal convictions and prison sentences for 18 members of violent South Florida street gangs, including the Zoe Mafia Family (ZMF), the 3rd World gang, and several Bloods gang factions.

The joint operation resulted in accusations of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine trafficking; carrying a firearm in furtherance of a narcotics trafficking offense; and a felon in possession of a firearm. It resulted in the seizure of 23 weapons, three kilograms of fentanyl, seven kilograms of cocaine, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and cannabis.

The defendants, former residents of South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties), were convicted and sentenced to the following jail terms:

According to law enforcement, several of the accused are members of the Zoe Mafia Family (ZMF), a South Florida Haitian criminal gang.

The operation’s results were announced by US Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne for the Southern District of Florida, acting Special Agent in Charge Gordon Mallory of the ATF Miami Field Division, and Sheriff Gregory Tony of the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

This case was investigated by ATF Miami and the Broward Sheriff’s Office, with support from DEA Miami, HSI Miami, and the FBI.

Southern District of Florida Bruce Brown, Managing Assistant US Attorney, and Jason McCormack, Assistant US Attorney, prosecuted the cases.

Previously, the United States State Department labeled two Haitian gangs (Viv Ansanm and Gran Grif) as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists.

This attempt is part of the operation of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. OCDETF employs a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach to identify, disrupt, and dismantle the most powerful criminal organizations that pose a threat to the United States.
