A man and a woman from California who allegedly committed a homicide in that state last week were arrested in Arizona on Monday, authorities said.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office arrested Johnathan Raymon Mota, 42, and Katrine Rivera-Valles, 34, in connection with the Friday homicide.

They had fled to Golden Valley, an unincorporated area in northwest Arizona situated between Kingman and Bullhead City.

Details on how the suspects in California homicide were located

On Monday, the US Marshals Office notified detectives at the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office about Mota and Rivera-Valles.

During the inquiry, it was discovered that the two had escaped to an area north of Golden Valley at Cottonwood Road and U.S. Highway 93.

The Bullhead City Police Department SWAT squad, Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers, and an Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter all assisted detectives in their search for the perpetrators.

Mota and Rivera-Valles were discovered driving a stolen vehicle in the Dolan Springs area and pursued into Golden Valley, where they surrendered and were arrested without incident.

Mota was arrested on a criminal homicide warrant from California.

Meanwhile, Rivera-Valles was arrested on a felony warrant in California for accessory to homicide.
