Three North Carolina people have been arrested after using counterfeit bills to buy Kroger gift cards in Madison.

According to the Madison Police Department, Kroger on Highway 51 informed detectives that a client had passed several counterfeit notes to purchase gift cards earlier in the day.

Officers also discovered that the same offenders had conducted similar offenses at other Kroger grocery stores throughout the metro region.

During the inquiry, the Smith County Texas Sheriff’s Office found and stopped the suspect car, a silver Kia Soul driven by Alice Faye Fisher, 67; Marlita Aeysha Williams, 45; and Tylec Raquon Williams, 26, from North Carolina.

The three suspects were later put into custody.

The Madison Police Department has detained all three suspects.

Marlitta, Tylec Williams, and Fisher will all face charges of felony false pretense and felony conspiracy to commit a crime.

All three suspects will remain in detention at the Smith County Detention Center in Texas as they await judicial proceedings.
