On Tuesday, January 28, around 8:20 p.m., a resident on Rhode Street alerted the Sayreville police about a concerning incident. According to the homeowner, several individuals were trying to gain access to his house through a back window. Authorities believe that these suspects were specifically targeting the resident’s luxury vehicle.

The resident provided detailed descriptions of the suspects who had fled before the officers arrived. As a result, the officers immediately began canvassing the area and came across four individuals walking on Main Street near Stacey Avenue. They approached the group, causing one suspect to flee on foot, while the remaining three were apprehended. After further investigation, the fourth suspect was discovered hiding inside a getaway vehicle, which was subsequently impounded.

The authorities have identified the individuals involved in the incident as Michael Jones, aged 26, Keeshawn Browning, aged 31, Rashad Lewis, aged 26, and a 16-year-old juvenile, all residents of Jersey City.

Michael Jones faced a range of charges, including burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, defacement of a weapon, eluding, and involving a minor of 17 years or younger in a criminal offense.

Keeshawn Browning faced charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, and the use of a minor aged 17 or younger in the commission of a criminal offense.

Rashad Lewis faced multiple charges, including burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, defacement of a weapon, and using a minor aged 17 or younger to commit a criminal offense. Meanwhile, a 16-year-old juvenile was charged solely with burglary.

The authorities transferred the adult suspects to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center, while the juvenile was taken to the Middlesex County Department of Youth Services.
