Mass Transit Detectives have released surveillance images of five people they believe are involved in the crime. These images, taken by CTA security cameras, show the suspects on the train just before and after the incident.
Police have not determined whether the suspects knew each other, whether the crime was a planned heist targeting a specific victim, or if it was a random incident. The event has revived concerns about public transportation safety, particularly late at night when there are fewer passengers and security staff present.
