On Wednesday, the police in New York City arrested an individual who was found to be carrying weapons, wearing body armor, and had written suspicious words such as “You gonna learn today”.

According to four law enforcement officials briefed on the investigation, the man was apprehended by the police around 4:30 a.m. during a traffic stop in Queens, as reported by NBC News.

The authorities have not disclosed his identity yet.

It is still not clear what the man’s intentions were, where he was headed or why he was carrying weapons. The investigators are currently looking into his background to determine if he had a history of emotional issues and whether he was trying to self-radicalize in the name of terrorism.

Law enforcement officials are unsure of why a traffic stop was conducted on the individual. The man was found to be in possession of various weapons, including a gun, knives, and body armor, according to the officials. Additionally, they discovered writings in his possession that included the statement, “You gonna learn today.”

The New York Police Department leads the investigation, with the New York Joint Terrorism Task Force and other law enforcement agencies notified due to the items and evidence gathered.

Over the weekend, law enforcement authorities arrested eight individuals from Tajikistan in New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. These men are suspected to have affiliations with ISIS.

According to three individuals with knowledge of the situation, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force had been keeping tabs on the suspects who were eventually detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This information was disclosed by NBC News on Tuesday.

According to two sources, the FBI notified ICE to arrest the suspects due to their possible links to ISIS. However, they have not yet been charged with any terrorist association or scheme, and were instead taken into custody on immigration charges.

According to two sources, the men are currently undergoing removal proceedings before an immigration judge. It is possible that they may also face charges related to terrorism in the future.
