REMEMBERING ERICH ANDERSON

Actor Erich Anderson, renowned for his memorable performances in “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter” and “Felicity,” has passed away.

Saxon Trainor, Erich’s devastated wife, confirmed this heartbreaking news over the weekend. She shared on social media that he succumbed to cancer after a courageous battle, stating, “I am sharing my brother-in-law Michael O’Malley’s words as I am too bereft now to write anything.”

Michael O’Malley described Erich’s illustrious career, highlighting his roles on iconic shows like “30 something,” where he showcased his talent as an actor. He portrayed Felicity’s father on the beloved series “Felicity” and met his end in a chilling basement scene in a “Friday the 13th” installment. Additionally, Erich graced the screen in “Star Trek” and numerous other television productions.

The tribute continued, emphasizing Erich’s multifaceted personality. He was noted as a witty and intelligent individual, renowned not only for his acting prowess but also for his culinary skills. Furthermore, he left behind a literary legacy, having authored three acclaimed novels available on Amazon.

Though his absence will be keenly felt, those close to Erich find solace in the end of his arduous battle.

The social media account for ‘Friday The 13th’ paid homage to Erich Anderson, who recently passed away. They remembered his iconic role as Rob Dier in the 1984 classic, with a heartfelt message that read, “RIP Erich Anderson. Rob Dier, Friday The 13th IV.” The post was accompanied by pictures of Anderson in character, paying tribute to his contribution to the franchise.

Eve Gordon, Anderson’s co-star in “Felicity,” shared her disbelief and sadness over the news. “I’m speaking in the past tense,” she said. “My friend, I hope to see you again in dreams and other dimensions. Fly high, my friend.”

Erich portrayed the role of Dr. Edward Porter, who was Keri Russell’s father, in the TV series “Felicity” from 1998-2002. Apart from this, he also acted in renowned TV shows like “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “NYPD Blue,” and “Melrose Place.” Erich was also a part of movies like “Bat*21” and “Infinity” during his acting career.

At the age of 67, Erich’s wife is left to mourn his passing.
