Freshly released photographs have revealed the automobile in which Khyree Jackson, a newcomer to the Minnesota Vikings, was traveling when he met with a fatal accident due to excessive speed.
According to reports, the fatal accident that resulted in the death of NFL Draft pick Jackson occurred due to a three-car collision. The incident took place when 23-year-old Cori Clingman attempted to switch lanes at a high speed and collided with Jackson’s vehicle. The investigators have mentioned that alcohol may have played a role in the crash as well.
Jackson’s tragic death occurred in his hometown of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. His mother received a devastating phone call just moments after the crash informing her of her son’s passing.
Jackson was traveling in a maroon Dodge Charger with his friends, including the driver, Isaiah Hazel, and the backseat passenger, Anthony Lytton Jr. They were headed northbound near Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue.
According to a statement from the police, a fatal crash that resulted in the loss of three lives is currently under investigation by the Maryland State Police in Prince George’s County. Investigators suspect that Clingman, the driver, was trying to change lanes while driving at a high speed when she collided with a Dodge Charger and a Chevrolet Impala. The Charger then veered off the right side of the road and hit several tree stumps before coming to a stop.
It’s heartbreaking to report that Jackson and Hazel lost their lives in the crash. The impact of the accident was so severe that Lytton Jr had to be rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. It’s a tragic incident that has left their loved ones in shock and grief.
At around 4am, Jackson’s mother, Ebbony, received news of the fatal incident.
During the accident, Clingman had two passengers in the car, while the Chevrolet Impala had a sole motorist. Luckily, all passengers involved in the incident were uninjured. However, criminal charges are pending, and the Maryland State Police Crash Team is currently leading an investigation.
Many have expressed their condolences for the loss of Khyree Jackson, including Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell who shared his devastation over the news. Jackson’s presence in the facility and on the team was described as having a contagious energy, with his confidence and engaging personality quickly making him a beloved teammate.
