Zoo officials ask Akron visitors to keep their eyes peeled

If you happen to stop by the Akron Zoo in the coming weeks, make sure to keep a lookout.

Through the end of August, the zoo is running a fun challenge for its visitors. According to their announcement on Facebook, a ‘Golden Paw’ sticker will be hidden somewhere in the zoo every week. The challenge is to find the sticker, and the first person to spot it will be rewarded with a free prize.

According to the post, the stakes have been raised this year, and a unique prize will be offered every week.

According to the post, last year’s lucky winners were treated to a thrilling Grizzly Bear Get Close Experience along with three of their friends. This year’s prize, on the other hand, promises to be just as exciting as the first week’s winner will receive a coveted Galapagos tortoise Get Closer Experience for two!

The zoo has exciting news for visitors who want an up-close experience with wild animals. The latest addition to their tour options is the ‘Get Closer Tour’, where guests can have the opportunity to feed a lion. It is yet to be confirmed if this thrilling experience will be among the prizes offered this year.

If you happen to come across the paw, make sure to bring it to the Welcome Center to claim your prize in the form of a gift certificate.

Before embarking on your search for the Golden Paw, it’s important to keep in mind the rules set forth by zoo officials. As stated on the zoo’s website, visitors are required to remain on designated public pathways at all times. It’s also important to note that the Golden Paw is not located within any animal habitats or staff work areas.
