After serving for 30 years, Kimberly Spears-McNatt, the police chief of Ohio State University, has decided to retire at the end of this month.

In 2018, Spears-McNatt made history by becoming the first female chief of the department.

After completing her studies from Ohio State, she entered the university police department in 1994.

Clemson University in South Carolina has appointed her as the new associate vice president of public safety, and she has gladly accepted the position.

According to a statement released by Spears-McNatt, she expressed that this presents a distinctive chance for her to step down from her current position, while simultaneously embracing a fresh challenge that is in line with her career aspirations.

In expressing her sentiments, Spears-McNatt stated that while she will miss Ohio State and her fellow Buckeyes dearly, she is also thrilled to embark on this new challenge.

Before August 26th, an interim police chief will be appointed to take over from Spears-McNatt on her last day.
