On Sunday, a terrifying subway surfing incident occurred in Queens that left a 14-year-old boy injured. Sadly, this incident is another example of the dangerous trend that has been claiming young victims.

According to the NYPD, a teenager riding on top of a southbound 7 train was injured when his head hit a beam as the train entered the 111th Street Station around 4:30 p.m.

According to the authorities, the young boy was immediately taken to Elmhurst Hospital. Fortunately, he was in a stable condition.

Located above ground, the Corona 7 train station features an overhang that extends over the tracks, providing approximately one foot of space between the beams and the roof of passing trains.

There have been numerous fatal incidents associated with the hazardous stunt around the city, and the injury sustained by the teenager is the most recent addition to this concerning trend.

According to officials, more and more teenagers are participating in subway surfing as they try to imitate the risky behavior that is often showcased on popular social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
