On July 2, a man from Maryland won a $50,000 lottery prize by using a set of numbers he copied from another vehicle’s license plate.

According to Maryland Lottery officials, a man from Hyattsville has shared his unique strategy for playing Pick 5 drawings. He revealed that he often memorizes license plate numbers while driving or at the site of accidents, and then uses them to select his numbers.

The ticket he held for the Pick 5 drawing on June 26 had a set of numbers that proved to be lucky for him. He successfully matched all five digits that were drawn, which were 2-0-5-3-3.

He won a $50,000 jackpot with the ticket.

The player expressed his joy and excitement when his five digits finally hit the mark.

In 2023, the man had won a $5,000 prize from a Pick 4 drawing with the combination of 2-0-5-3, which interestingly, is the same number combination that earned him his recent win.

He stated that he would use his winnings to set up a savings account for his grandchild.
