A Washington man, upset after being informed he couldn’t live at a woman’s new apartment, is accused of assaulting her.

The incident took place at the victim’s Tiffin apartment on Wednesday afternoon. According to the arrest report, 26-year-old Barron Cunningham became angry when the woman declined his request to live with her at her new apartment. When she mentioned calling 911, he allegedly grabbed her phone and threw it beside the refrigerator, out of her reach. Cunningham’s actions reportedly caused her pain and left red marks.

Despite the woman’s attempts to leave, Cunningham allegedly blocked her and also put his hands on her neck, leaving two small bruises on the underside of her chin.

Cunningham has been arrested and faces charges of Assault causing Bodily Injury, False Imprisonment, and Obstruction of Emergency Communications. If convicted on all charges, he could be sentenced to up to 25 months in jail.

A no-contact order has been requested between Cunningham and the victim.
