According to the latest weather updates, the 13 News viewing area is likely to experience showers and thunderstorms on the 4th of July. However, the good news is that the rainfall is not expected to continue throughout the day. There is a high probability that the showers will subside by the evening, just in time for the fireworks display which is scheduled for around 10 p.m. in most areas.

On Thursday, the 4th of the week, storms are expected to commence in the northern region of the area and gradually move towards the south. Despite the commencement of the storms, the weather will remain hot, and there is a possibility of the storms intensifying in the afternoon as they progress from approximately I-64 into southeastern Kentucky and southern West Virginia. It is anticipated that some of the storms may result in strong downburst winds, while a few may lead to temporary street flooding in specific areas due to heavy rainfall.

On Friday, waves of showers and storms are expected to sweep in from the west and make their way towards the east. However, these showers and storms are not expected to last all day long. There is a forecast of a drier air mass moving in behind this weather system for Friday night.
