A man, who had been on the run and was highlighted as a wanted fugitive by Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers since January, has finally been apprehended and is now in custody. The news was reported from Colorado Springs, Colo. (KKTV).
This week, the U.S. Marshals Service shared an update on the manhunt for Yoel Aleman-Rodriguez. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals COVOTF in Colorado Springs on July 2 to apprehend Aleman-Rodriguez, and investigators discovered that he may have been residing with a family member close to Fort Myers, Florida. Thanks to the efforts of the Florida-Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force (FCRFTF), Aleman-Rodriguez was successfully captured on July 9 in Lehigh Acres.
Aleman-Rodriguez was in custody in Lee County, Florida as of Friday morning.
Online court records indicate that Aleman-Rodriguez faced several severe charges, including attempted murder stemming from an incident in November 2023.
