An arrest has been made in connection with a hit-and-run incident that occurred near the Red Bird area in Dallas earlier this month.

Javonti Hines, 33, was arrested by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office for the hit-and-run incident on September 14th, which resulted in a man being hospitalized.

Around 3 a.m., a man’s vehicle broke down near Highway 67 and I-20. As he stood outside of his car, a truck suddenly sideswiped him, causing a collision.

According to sheriffs, Hines was the driver of the truck. They have reported that he did not stop to check on the man after hitting him and instead chose to drive away.

After being taken to the hospital, the man has now been released and is currently recovering at home.

To locate Hines, the sheriff’s office released photographs of him and his black Dodge Ram following the accident.

Hines faces charges of causing a serious bodily injury in a collision and tampering with evidence. Currently, he is being held in the Dallas County jail.
